Proper Priorities

Posted on

Maybe it’s age, maybe it’s hormones, maybe I just think too much, but I don’t sleep.  I can get to sleep, I just don’t stay asleep.  And when I wake up at 2 or 3 in the morning, my mind is off and running!

I don’t know why I just can’t quiet my brain.  I tell myself to knock it off and go to sleep, but I don’t listen to me.  Very frustrating I tell ya!

Well, he did slip.  As soon as the grass ended and he had to step on the driveway, he lost his footing.  And as I watched, with horror, as he slid all the way down our driveway, all I was really seeing was the melons bouncing down the hill past him.  My poor cantaloupes!  I mean my poor Hubby!

It occurred to me, as I laid wide awake in the middle of the night, how our priorities change as we get older.  Because now I would most definitely be concerned about ALL the groceries tumbling down our driveway, not just the melons. 😉
